Pearls of Life: Amazon Colombia, Spiritual Ceremonies, Spiritual Wisdom, and Mother Earth.
Traveling to the indigenous communities in the Amazon River in Colombia brings on an adventure of Amazonics ceremonies and traditional spiritual wisdom through the community.
It is an unbelievable experience to be part of those indigenous communities gathering and participating in the traditional spiritual ceremonies. The spiritual ceremonies are conducted by spiritual leaders who practice the ceremonies for individuals and community healing based on drinking of drinks brewed from the plants. Including dancing and playing traditional music all night long. The drinks of the special drink compote from different plants to ferment all night based on special ancient knowledge. The drinks are contained in a barrel that are stages in the Maloka where all gather together. Sometimes the same drink is passed around for each participant of the ceremony to drink from.
I was lucky to travel with 4 different tribes to one of the remote communities in the Amazon River of Colombia and to participate with initiation of a new healthcare facility and planting of a garden for medical plants. Additionally, I was lucky to participate in one of the ceremonies by another community where they have planted new plants to worship the Amazon Jungle Rainforest. The indigenous communities on a regular basis plant in the land to maintain the rainforest and they believe that those planting are nutritious as spirituality to the community contribute to worship of mother earth.
A few organizations in Colombia are dedicated to support the preservation of the Amazon region Rainforest, including to limit the deforestation rate in the region of the Amazon in Colombia in different departments, such as the Putomayo department. Research was done by the University of the Andes in Bogota regarding the deforestation of the rainforest in different departments of the Amazon. If you are interested in this, you can google and read that research.
Visiting the 4 communities in the Narino department was the goal of my trip with the consent and invitation from the leaders in that region to participate in a specific gathering, in order to make decisions to protect the territories of the indigenous people in the region. The gathering was also intended to bring internal peace and confidence in the social leaders to protect the communities rights for the land and for social assistance from the community members and local organizations. My friend, who is a local resident of Leticia established a foundation to preserve the indigenous social life and protect their rights to maintain the ancestry tradition and invited me to join them and to be part of this foundation.
Learning from participating in the indigenous communities ceremonies was the importance of protecting the rainforest and improving the ancient medical knowledge to be transferred from generation to generation.
We, at Leelush.com, are dedicated to supporting the indigenous communities in the Amazon Colombia region to preserve the ancient knowledge of botanical medicine as well as bringing medicine to prevent and to treat Malaria in that region. We, at Leelush.com, took an assignment to complete the build of healthcare facilities in different communities and to provide mobile healthcare units to those regions in order to support the indigenous communities in the region.
It is paramount in our eyes to promote and support the indigenous groups in the Amazon Rainforest Colombia to enable them to reserve their full land rights and autonomy while protecting the traditional wisdom and spirituality as a tool to defend their ideology. It is my opinion that in the Western world people are still having a struggle with environmental groups to understand the importance that lies in the ancestral spiritual practice as a way to conduct the preservation of the nature law as established by those indigenous communities.
The core belief of those indigenous communities is to live in harmony with nature, worship mother nature and conduct ceremonies to appreciate the spirit of the planet. The core values are based on what we get from nature such as the sun, the air, and the land, all that is far from the material world of the industrial western world.
