Exploring a day trip from Santa Ana to Juayua town in the Ruta de Flores is an amazing adventure and unforgettable scene.

Early morning, we took the public transportation from the station in Santa Ana towards Juayua in the region that is called Ruta de Flores in El Salvador. The ride was very interesting and safe. The local Salvadorians are very nice and all were accommodating us as tourists. Obviously you need to speak Spanish as the locals don’t speak English. It’s safe and interesting ride where you are able to be acquainted with the local Salvadorians.

The ride took 2.5 hours and we arrived to the centre of Juayua town. Juayua is a typical town in El Salvador Ruta de Flores region. At that time, the market was open and we were able to be familiar with the centre of town, the market and the merchandise; while waiting for the rest of the team to arrive. We were a group of 20 people, all tourists. We were the only American-Romanian citizens, the rest were mostly Europeans. The local Salvadorian tour guides were a married couple. On the agenda was hiking through 7-waterfalls for a period of 5 hours.

Hiking and going through the 7-waterfalls could not be done without the supervision and the closed directions of these tours guides.  The trail is not marked and the local guide knew exactly where to turn, how to go up, which caves to pass, and where each one of the 7-waterfalls is located. 7-waterfalls is 7 blessings.

We had the chance to purify our spirits and use the mud while getting into the water and the caves.

Upon arrival to the last waterfall, we had the local car waiting for us to bring us back to Juayua town. At Juayua, we were eating local food of Papusas. The Salvadorians are very big in the Papusas diversity taste and we became experts in the difference of Papusas taste. You can get 3 Papusas for $1.

Around 5 o'clock in the evening time, we took the local bus back to Santa Ana, where we were able to stroll the ancient streets of Santa Ana and explore the square near the church.

Surprisingly and very encouraging from the radical change in the society and the safety of El Salvador, I recommend visiting this country and taking advantage of this great opportunity while having the stability of the region. Nayib Bukele, the current President of El Salvador, took this country on a different route for prosperity and safety. It is an extreme change from what people had in mind while thinking of the previous danger El Salvador.

Today, from my experience, Bukele enjoys the support of his people, everyone is talking highly about him and the tourists enjoy this beautiful country and co-mingling with the good people because the Salvadorians are nice people. More about this, you can read in my previous blogs about El Salvador, here
