El Nuro, amazing combination of desert and Pacific Ocean, green sea turtles on the coast of Peru.
We stayed in that area and we decided to take a day trip to El Nuro to swim with the turtles. El Nuro, a fishing village located on the Pacific Ocean of Peru, had amazing views of the desert from one side and the ocean from the other.
In El Nuro, we enjoyed watching the big fish which were brought by the fisherman that day on their fishing boats. On the pier of El Nuro, we were able to witness a lot of the fish that were brought that day. Additionally, the village offers to the tourists other attractions including purchase of artisanal jewelry, a nice lunch on the beach, having grilled fish and watching or swimming with the turtles. The local fishermen were very welcoming. They prefer that the tourists watch the turtles from the pier and not swim inside the water with them in order to protect the turtles. It is paramount to understand that you cannot get to this area of the village by yourself. It is necessary to have a guide take you since the road to the village is through dunes of sand and in the middle of the desert.
